Murder in the Skies is the seventh episode of the sixteenth season. The episode covers the crash of Germanwings flight 9525, and aired on 23 January 2017.

Plot[]

On Tuesday 24 March 2015, Germanwings flight 9525 en route from Barcelona to Düsseldorf, crashes in the Alpes, killing all 150 people on board. The investigation later uncovers that the accident was in fact a suicidal act committed by the First Officer, Andreas Lubitz.

  • The accident is soully the only accident for Germanwings.
  • The Germanwings accident is the third deadliest involving an Airbus 320, the other two being TAM Airlines 3054 and AirAsia Indonesia flight 8501.
  • It's also the third deadliest aviation accident on French soil, and the deadliest since the crash of Air France 4590 in 2000.
