9/11: The Pentagon Attack is the second episode of the sixteenth season of Air Crash Investigation. The episode aired on 14 June 2016, and covers one of the hijacked planes that crashed during the September 11 attacks.

Plot Edit

On Tuesday, 11 September 2001; during the 9/11 attacks, American Airlines flight 77 is hijacked while on route from Washington. It turns back towards the capital, and flies low over a road, and clips some lampposts before crashing into the Pentagon, killing everyone on board and a couple staff members in the Pentagon. The NTSB and FBI work on separate cases, as the FBI works on the criminal side, while the NTSB work on anything involved with the aircraft. Improvement after this hijacking, is one of few things that the cockpit doors are more secure, and it is more unlikely something similar to 9/11 can happen again.
